The newest addition to the downtown Amazon corridor is Vietnamese fast-casual restaurant Sizzle & Crunch. Taking residence at Amazon Nessie and replacing Ethan Stowell’s Ballard Pizza Company. Sizzle & Crunch is the second location in the Seattle area. The first located in the U District, gained a loyal following with the college group and is looking to do the same in the tech-heavy South Lake Union neighborhood.
Owner Paul Nguyen — who launched Sizzle & Crunch not long after he graduated from the University of Washington — told Eater Seattle that, depending on how the business performs in SLU, he is considering expanding to downtown or Capitol Hill next.
With a recommendation from property management and another amazon tenant, Sizzle & Crunch came to Metro Sign Co. to create something bigger and better then what was done at the 42nd St location. Our design and build teams decided on a signage package that makes a statement. Large non-illuminated panels on the long facade showcase the offerings at Sizzle & Crunch. An illuminated channel cloud with a bold pop of color states the style of restaurant and is a nice feature to grab the attention of those working long hours and needing to refuel. The logo was brought to life with marquee bulb letters with a warm white glow, coordinating with the string lights in the outside area.
